A Woman’s Place on Main Street is committed to helping you be successful in breastfeeding your child. We offer breastfeeding classes as well as follow-up lactation support, provided by a Certified Lactation Counselor.
Our classes are 1 1/2 hours in length and are held in our comfortable office. Light snacks and beverages are provided and the class is held in a conversational style, offering you the opportunity to make sure that all your questions are answered.
Classes are limited to 6 participants and your partners are always welcome to join you. Topics such as getting started with nursing, correct latch and positioning and what to look for to ensure that a baby is thriving are all included. It is our goal that every mother who takes our classes will feel confident that she will be able to nourish her baby and will know when to ask for help.
The fee for the class also includes one hour of follow-up care either on the phone or in our office. This “tune-up” can be an opportunity to address any problems or questions you have or simply to allow us to cheer you on. We will always refer you to an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) if any problem you are having is beyond our scope of practice. Additional support beyond the “tune-up” is charged at an hourly rate.

In addition to breastfeeding classes and support, we rent and sell Medela breast pumps and offer a variety of baby and mother care products such as slings and nursing bras.
